Description

Puerto Portals is located along the southwest coast of the island of Majorca.

It is located within the bay of Palma, about 10 kilometers from the city center and 16 kilometers from the airport area.

The port has 639 moorings for boats of between 6 and 60 meters in length and a width not exceeding 14 meters. The draft varies from 4 meters in the area intended for small and medium-sized boats to 7 meters of area for boats of greater length. In the area of the mooring stations, boaters can find sources of running water, columns for the supply of electricity, Wi-Fi internet line, while a security service monitors the area 24 hours on 24.

The harbor also hosts a fuel station, while- on request- it is possible to supply fuel for boats over 18 meters long.

The captain station emits weather bills and the port also includes a workshop area for repair and maintenance of boats, cranes and travelift.

Port customers can take advantage of bathrooms and showers, a laundry room and waste collection points. A car park, a bank counter, a supermarket and a first aid station are present in the port area.

There are also many restaurants and shops (clothing, nautical articles, jewelers, real estate agencies, perfumery). In the immediate vicinity, you can also find hotels and other types of business activities.

The Puerto Portals also organizes sailing courses and hosts sporting events, events in general, competitions, markets and exhibitions.

Close to the port of Puerto Portals there is s'Oratori Platja de Portals Nous, a beach located little more than 10 kilometers from Palma de Mallorca.  It is a sandy beach and has a narrow, long shape, closed from behind by high rocky red walls, covered with Mediterranean vegetation.

The ease of access and proximity to town make it a very popular destination with the locals: in fact, the beach is easily accessible on foot, by bus or by car. There is a free parking area close to the beach.

Just in front of the beach of s'Oratori you see the  Illa d'en Sales.

Due to the vicinity to the port area, the beach is easily accessible, both on foot and by public transport, and by car leaving it in the nearby free parking area. The favorable access conditions for all costumers make it an attractive destination for tourists and locals alike, especially in the summer months.

The beach is also equipped with a bathing guard.

The most suitable place to base is here in this bay between the islet and the beach, where there is a sandy bottoms with algae, a depth of about 3 meters and protected from winds (the only currents that interest the area are the Eastern).

In the eastern part of the beach, it is better to stay out of the way with your own boats from some emerging rocks.

The anchoring near the island of Villa d'en Sales is also not recommended because of the low backdrops and rocky outcrops in the southwestern part of the islet.

Not far from Portals there is also the beach of Son Caliu, near Palmanova. The beach is embedded in the urban agglomeration and the shore is partially cemented. Guests arriving here can take advantage of the toilet and showers, as well as rent beach accessories (such as parasols and sun loungers). You can also reach Son Caliu beach by public transport or by car, but the beach is not accessible for the disabled.

Puerto Portals is part of the municipality of Calvià. Its territory is characterized by the presence of many mills and towers.

There are numerous cycling trails that allow cycling fans to go from one location to another.
