Description

Pollença Port  is a municipality of the Balearic Islands, located on the island of Mallorca in its northern territory. His name can lead to confuse this location with the ancient Roman city of Pollentia, Alcudia today, regarded as one of the oldest and the most important Spanish Mediterranean story. Alcudia was an important maritime, Phoenician, Carthaginian, Greek, Roman, Muslim, and finally the ancient Aragonian crown. Pollença, along with its port with the San Vicente and Alcudia caves, make up the nicest areas of the island’s northern cost.

The port of Pollença has a long sea promenade and large white sandy beaches. San Vicente Cove groups a crystal-clear cave complex, located  at the foot of imposing and scenic mountains. It is a place that is definitely fascinating and of great interest to all the boaters who often decide to stay at anchor in this marvelous  bay.

The area is also known for the presence of the Alzineret prehistoric cave complex, favored by tourists and expert speleologists.

The writer Agatha Christie visited the town in the early twentieth century and stayed in a hotel in the Pineta area. Her stay inspired her and led her into writing the work "Problems in Pollença Bay and Other Stories".

The main port of Pollença is the Real Club Nautical Port of Pollença. Located in the most sheltered area of the bay, it occupies a surface of 23,635 m2 and is protected by a dam of 400 meters. It offers a total of 375 moorings, 75 of which are intended for transit sailors.

The Club offers a wide range of port services, alongside a series of sports facilities and infrastructure dedicated to leisure and customer entertainment. First of all, it has a restaurant and a cafe, which every evening welcomes the costumers with food and good music. The club is equipped with private parking, a library and a gym for members and customers of the port.

Among all the amenities that the club offers, it is important to name the pool with the large solarium, open from May to October every day from 9am to 7pm.

One of the great goals of the club is the support and diffusion of nautical culture, as well as the sports associated with it. For this reason, it has an excellent sailing school, and the marina has hosted important sports competitions such as the World Windsurfing Championship in 1999 and the World Highland Fishing Championships in 2002.

The Club is furnished with equipment and infrastructure dedicated to boat maintenance and repairs: The Travel Lift service, up to 50 tons, and the crane, with a capacity up to 3 tons, is available from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00 daily except Saturdays. To book, you must contact the supervisor at marineria@rcnpp.net or by calling at 971864724.

Finally, the club can count on a gas station and petrol station open every day. From October to June, the time is from 8:30 to 13:00 and from 15:30 to 19:30, Monday to Saturday, and Sunday from 8:30 to 13:00.
