Dock Services

Description

It has a total area of 30000 square meters and offers a good number of services to its sailors. It is a narrow, elongated landing in Cala Llonga. The landing has 563 mooring places for boats no longer than 25 meters, for a draft that does not exceed 3 meters. On the pier, surfers can find electricity recharging points and sources of drinking water. Access to the port is permitted throughout the year, 24 hours a day. The landing site offers a meteorological service, a wi-fi network, toilets and showers, a 24-hour surveillance service and a laundry service. The port area also houses a refueling station, open every day, all year round, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (with a one hour break between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm) . In winter, between November and April, the service is self-service. The port also offers an area dedicated to the storage and maintenance of ships, with two ferries that can respectively raise 45 and 65 tons, workshops for mechanical assistance and maintenance of the hull (anti-osmosis and anti-fouling treatments). It is not possible to present evidence anywhere in the port area. Near the tourist port of Cala d'Or you can find some hotels, restaurants and fast food. The area is also well connected by the local transport line. Near the landing there is also a first aid medical center. Leaving the port area and going up the coast to the northwest, you will find Cala d'Or, a small entrance with turquoise water, surrounded by pine forests. At the bottom of the bay there is a small beach of fine and clear sand, surrounded by pine trees, some white buildings and stone terraces. In summer you can rent beach equipment here (umbrellas, sunbeds). Maintaining the central part of the bay, it is possible to remain on the bottom, on a sandy bottom with rocks and algae, with a depth ranging from two to three meters. It is a bay well protected from the winds, thanks to the presence of the promontory of Punta Citarea, but it is good to avoid anchoring in this bay in the presence of intense currents coming from the east. You can reach the beach by public transport, while the adjacent streets offer the possibility to park your car. Customers who come to this beach can take advantage of the bathrooms, showers and the presence of a restaurant. The port of Marina Cala d'Or is part of the department of Santanyì, whose center is about 15 kilometers away. The adjacent natural area of Mondragò was declared a Natural Park by the authorities of the Balearic Islands in the 90s. It is a site of particular interest for the fauna, ornithological (which collects more than 70 different species of birds) and prehistoric: here you can find some formations of gravel dating back to the Miocene period. The natural beauty of the place makes it a good destination for trekking lovers. Not far from the Marina Deportiva of Cala d'Or is also Cala Varques, with a white and fine sandy beach, surrounded by low continuous rocky walls. Among the attractions of the bay there is a natural rocky arch, a beautiful cave and dense pine forests. Hardly accessible from the mainland, this bay is a good place to lie down on sandy bottoms at a depth of between four and six meters. The bay is famous for its underwater caverns and galleries, which attract divers and speleologists, but are also accessible to swimmers.
