Description

The port of Santa Marina Salina is one among the main attractions on Salina Island, in the middle of the Aeolian Archipelago. It is the second largest port of the archipelago after Lipari.

It is situated south of the commercial port of Santa Marina Salina and is named after the ancient saltworks of the island. Now in disuse, they testifies their past as a probable naval reference point also thanks to the presence of an ancient lighthouse.

The current port consists of a new tourist dry dock protected by a curve inner breakwater and an outer dock with a long floating jetty.

South of the inner breakwater stretches the Pozzo d'Agnello quay, which can host both small and medium-sized recreational boats, all provided with water and electric charging columns, fuel, slipway, weather forecast and engine repairs.

The main source of wealth of the island is represented by tourism. Consequently, the island is generally very crowded with many boats in summer even though  not included in mass-tourim itineraries.

Only rarely, the port hosts large yachts also because the range of services offered is not particularly rich.

The tourist dry dock of Santa Marina Salina, also known as "Port of the Aeolian Islands", has been managed by the private Safim srl company since 2009.

The port of Santa Marina Salina is an excellente point of departure to sail in the Aeolian archipelago and visit all its wonderful islands.
