Description
Situated below the walls of the namesake city in Sardinia, the port of Alghero can host boats up to 70 metres in length. The port facility is protected by two 850-metre docks: The new outer breakwater: hosting the so-called Molo Lo Frasso and Molo Nord (northern dock) The southern dock In the north-eastern part of the port, between the inner breakwater and Millelire quay, raises the Nuova Darsena (new dry dock) reserved for fishing boats, equipped with floating piers. There, sea bottoms are about 2 metres deep. The tourist area of the port, consisting of a series of floating jetties specifically reserved for recreational boats, is located between Garibaldi Quay and the Northern Dock. Two additional quays are reserved for commercial ships and transiting vessels (up to 50 metres in length) and are located in the southern area of the port. The Port of Alghero is situated in a strategic interesting position just few miles away from the most beautiful tourist destinations of the Mediterranean. Yachting areas Northern Dock (outer side), maximum draft: 4.50 metres; two 100-metres cement docks and 7 floating jetties. Banchina Dogana: it has a length of 39 metres and a maximum draft of 3.80 metres Banchina Sanità: it has a length of 112 metres and a maximum draft of 3 metres Banchina Garibaldi: 210 metres long, it is divided into two different areas A first part, equipped with three floating jetties, has a length of 110 metres and a maximum draft of 1.80 metres A second part, equipped with ttwo floating jetties, has a length of 100 metres and a maximum draft of 3.5 metres Marina di Sant'Elmo: situated in the southern part of the port of Alghero. It offers 100 berths for boats up to 70 metres in length Additional newly built floating jetties are reserved for recreational boats Alghero is a city that still preserves the typical soul of coastal towns, where it is pleasant to walk and enjoy the salty scent of the sea in a net of narrow lanes.
