Puerto Deportivo Benalmàdena 

The history of this magnificent port began in the 60s when, as mayor Enrique Bolín, he proposed the construction of an infrastructure that would allow Benalmádena to offer quality tourist attractions while improving the historical relationship of this municipality with the sea. the idea of ​​constructing this port was received with disbelief by the innovative and grandiose idea of ​​the idea even if the municipal push managed to overcome the obstacles that appeared and little by little, and without many vicissitudes, what was today one of the most attractive sports, recreational and recreational environments on the entire Mediterranean coast. The Puerto Deportivo de Benalmádena was created as an administrative concession granted by the Ministry of Public Works and Urban Planning to the Hon. Municipality of Benalmádena, with the agreement of the Council of Ministers, for the construction and management of a base sport port or for wintering on the beach of Fuente de la Salud. Work began on November 12, 1972, after several construction phases, concluded with the inauguration of the port on October 9, 1982. The port has been directed since its inception by the Hon. Municipality of Benalmádena although, to improve and rationalize its management, in July 1996 and with the agreement of the Plenary, a Municipal Corporation was created.
