Description

Marina Uno is a marina situated in Lignano Sabbiadoro at the mouth of river Tagliamento. The marina was born in 1960 just 400 metres far from the wonderful mouth of river Tagliamento. The genial idea was conceived by the powerboat World Champion Pier Paolo Dalmas, who decided to build the project on the lands owned by SIL spa (Società Imprese Lignano). The marina was originally equipped with 180 berths for boats of different sizes, assistance service, cranes and fuel. In 1980 the dry dock was sold to a group of businessmen who started the enlargement works of the dry dock two years later. This way, the berths became over 400 and the marina was enriched with some floating quays and equipped with toilets, showers, management offices, car parks and advanced mooring and technical services.

In the summer 1983 the current dry dock was inaugurated during an official celebration which saw the participation of "Frecce Tricolori", the aerobatic demonstration team of the Italian Aeronautica Militare.

In the following years, the marina was enriched with Marina Uno Hotel, a swimming pool, two new apartement complexes, new shops and a new garaging area equipped with new haulage cranes. Some recent maintenance plans of the dry dock has envisaged a reduction in the number of berths in order to host bigger boats, the replacement of wooden poles with zinc-coated steel ones, the enlargement in the number of toilets and showers, the introduction of a separate waste collection service and the adjustment of all the facilities to the new safety measures.

Marina Uno is the founding partner of Consorzio Marine Lignano which includes all the dry docks of the tourist area in Friuli, seated in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Since its foundation in 1990, the dry dock receives the prestigious "European Blue Flag" prize from the European Community for the high-qaulity of its services.

In 1997, Marina Uno s.r.l. became part of Lignao Pineta s.p.a but maintaining its management autonomy. In 1998, the marina became also member of the so-called "Associazione Porti Turistici dell'Adriatico" (Association of the Marinas in the Adriatic Sea), an association which gathers over 30 marinas between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Puglia. Since 200, the marina also houses the local section of Lega Navale Italiana
