Description

Traditionally, an important fishing port that housed a huge fishing fleet, Peel remains the most active fishing port on the Isle of Man. It is also an important port for the import of fuel oil and hosts the occasional cruise ship visit. Located on the west coast, Peel also has a large fish and seafood processing industry and houses the traditional art of hatchery care with guided tours organized for visitors throughout the season of seasonings (May to September).
The distinctive feature of Peel is its ancient castle overlooking the entrance to the inner harbor, which also houses the award-winning heritage center of the Manannan house, open all year round for visitors.
