Description

Plymouth, the British ocean city has an important maritime and naval heritage. From here, Sir Francis Drake sailed in the English fleet in 1588 to defeat the Spanish Armada. Since then, the Royal Navy has had a strong presence in the vicinity of Devonport. Plymouth Sound is known throughout the world as an anchor and departure point for near and far journeys. From here, the Pilgrim Fathers departed on board the Mayflower in 1620 to cross the Atlantic and begin a new life in America. In addition, the view of the Plymouth Hoe sound is one that must be seen. Plymouth also has many interesting bars, cafes and restaurants around Barbican and Sutton Harbor. Many are within walking distance of the marina and offer the opportunity to relax after a hard day of sailing. The National Marine Aquarium is also nearby, for those rainy days or the Royal Theater offers great entertainment. For those who love sales therapy, they can visit the Circus Drake, which has the best-known brand stores, and must stay busy for hours.
