Description
In 1992, the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the City Council of Getxo formed the Public Society Puerto Deportivo el Abra - Getxo S.A. with the purpose of building and operating the Getxo Marina.
For its location, as the first sporting port of Euskadi, the following considerations were taken into account:
Have more than 842 moorings.
Do not specify large shelter infrastructures because they are already executed.
Establish an important relationship in the well-connected port-city space.
Offer water area of favorable navigability.
Offer conditions for their integration in international navigation routes.
