Description
Situated in the heart of the city, outside the southern dock of the port of Pescara, Marina di Pesca is composed by a 730-metre-long inner breakwater, a 370-metre-dock and a northern quay. It is well-linked to the airport, the railway station and the motorway.
Before entering the port, yachtsmen are required to contact the marina on VHF channel 06, both at daytime and night. Please pay attention to a danger buoy at the entrance of the marina.
Marina di Pescara is one among the largest marinas in the Adriatic, declared " European Blue Flag" since 1990. This is a prestigious acknowledgement assigned by Fee&Fee Environments to all structures which are able to guarantee high-quality services. Its strategic position makes it an excellent strarting point to visit the most charming Mediterranean destinations, such as Croatia, Greece, the coast of Gargano, Tremiti Islands and Conero.
Marina del Pescara offers 1000 berths and it extends over a 200-thousand-square-metre area and a body of water of 107.000 square metres.
History:
The construction works of the marina started in June 1984, when the Pescara Chamber of Commerce was granted use of the harbour area and built a first functional area, part of the whole tourism/accommodation complex. In may 1998, the same Chamber of Commerce established its own internal port management body: The Pescara Tourist Port Management Authority entrusted with the task of completing and managing the Marina. Lastly, on January 4, 2003, the Pescara Chamber of Commerce assigned the Pescara Tourist Port Management Authority to the sole shareholding company Società Unipersonale MARINA di PESCARA a r.l., based in Pescara, Via Papa Giovanni XXIII.
