Punta Molentis is a cove nestled in a rocky promontory on Serpentare island, linked to the mainland by a spit of sand. It offers a breath-taking pristine environment. Surrounded by the towns of Villasimius and Costa Rei, in the province of Cagliari, it is named after the donkey (molenti in Sardinian dialect) used by miners in the past.

The worderful beach is well-sheltered from winds and sourrounded by a generous Mediterranean forest which offers a beautiful panorama. The cove is popular among boaters sailing in Sardinia and looking for a peaceful place where to bathe and relax.

The small cove is easily accessible, except for some zones where high cliffs could require a certain physical training.

Punta Molentis is very charming and well-protected by the promontory located on the left of the beach. On the ground, tourists can rent sun umbrellas and beach equipment to enjoy relax in addition to a breath-taking view of the whole bay. The cove is generally reached by small sailing and fishing boats, which can moor in the left side of the beach.

There is also a small house on the shore offering a small bar and a restaurant, useful for a relaxing tourist stop.

Punta Molentis is one among the most beautiful coves of Sardinia, a real piece of heaven in the already beautiful frame offered by the zone between Villasimius and Costa Rei.
