Description
Anchorages in Sardinia
The small beach of Giardinelli, also known as the beach of Testa del Polpo (Octopus' head in English, Capocchia du Purpu Sardinian dialect), is named after the huge surrounding rock that precisely looks like an octopus' head.
It is situated in the village of Isoleddu, in the southern part of La Maddalena Island. It has always been compared with a natural pool thanks to its crystal-blue sea and white-sand beaches.
This piece of heaven is surrounded by many other coves and bays, very popular among tourists and yachtsmen.
Boats with a draft of over 2 metres are required to drop the anchor out of the cove.
