Description
Located in the eastern part of Cap d'Antibes, near Port Vauban, Haven (Anse) de la Garoupe is a popular place for summer visitors by sailing lovers and tourists.
Most of the creek area is well protected by almost all winds and has a good backdrop.
To preserve the ecosystem of this decline and to preserve the purity of the waters, the local authorities have organized a "clean" mooring area in the inner and lower part of the bay. In a field signaled by a buoyant perimeter, that seeks to counteract the effects of a wild berthing that pollutes the sea and seriously damages the fauna and underwater flora.
A non-destructive anchorage system has been set up to allow boats to moor, as it is not possible to throw anchor in the area to prevent spoiling the seabed and the beautiful posidonia meadows. Mooring in this organized area is only permitted for boats that comply with the latest European pollutant regulations and which comply with sea banning prohibitions.
Landing on the mainland tender, you can find the restrooms, restaurants, bars and some commercial activities. Close to Garoupe Beach, you can also find various hotels to stay overnight. In addition, for those who come from the ground, there is also a parking lot for cars.
The beach is quite spacious and is split between various operators, which offer equipment to spend the day as sun umbrellas and deckchairs.
The Anse de la Garoupe is a convenient starting point for many places on the Côte d'Azur, as well as the other suggestive bays that characterize Cap d'Antibes. Whoever arrives in this cave can enjoy the typical landscape of this region, made of verdant nature, beautiful villas and light-colored buildings contrasting with the blue sky and the blue of the sea.
There are numerous trails that leave from Garoupe, including the coastline called "Tire-Poil" - from the parking next to the beach to reach the other side of Cap d'Antibes near the Villa Eilenroc.
An interesting destination is also the lighthouse of Garoupe, east of the bay, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of Juan Les Pins.
