Description
Situated to the south of the Baie de Pampelonne and its beaches, the Bonne Terrasse Anse is one of the most beautiful resorts of the Saint-Tropez promontory.
The small bay offers good protection from the eastern wind but almost no ridged by the maestrale and the winds of the north in general. This creek is much quieter and less chaotic than the nearby Pampelonne bay, which remains a very well attended tourist destination every season of the year and especially during the high season.
In the northern part of the bay, the department of Var has set up an organized mooring area with 20 boat moorings available; to counteract the phenomenon of the wild anchor that affects this beautiful stretch of the Côte d'Azur.
It is, however, permissible to provide foundations also in areas outside the organized berth, subject to mooring only in sandy areas, avoiding areas where posidonial prawns are present to avoid undermining the delicate underwater flora. In addition, in the area immediately south of the organized mooring, the anchorage and the foundation in general are forbidden.
The bay is an integral part of "Natura 2000", a European institution that protects ecosystems and threatened species.
Even the beach (plage) de la Bonne Terrasse is quieter and more "family" than the more northerly (and more sophisticated) of the Ramatuelle area. The greatest calm here is due to the fact that, the access for those coming from the mainland, is less practical than that of the beaches that are located in the bay north: the nearest parking lot is very small and in high season it is hard to find a place. In addition, there is a fairly important staircase leading from here to the sea level.
The Bonne Terrasse beach is not very large (it extends for about 150 meters), consists of sand and is surrounded by a large number of small light-colored houses. It offers toilets, showers, and the possibility to rent beach equipment and to bring along their own dogs (provided they keep them on a leash).
The bay de la Bonne Terrasse is the ideal place for those who want to breathe the elegant air of the beaches of Ramatuelle without having to give up the tranquility.
