Description

Although founded legally in 1943, the Club de Vela Blanes, had been operating since the late 1930s. Its founders who met with other lovers of the sea, under the name of CAU (Josep Mª i Ferran Pinto, Paco Coll, Joan Vieta, Rafael Bataller and Josep Mª Grau tra ells) have clearly understood the philosophy of club: the sport of sailing must be their only reason to be. The first half of the twentieth century, the activity focused on the Snipe 160 of the fleet, the social and playful nature of the "CAU excursions" and the creation of social and local gateway. This first phase was led by René Bourlon. The consolidation of the Club would arrive during the second half of the century. On the one hand under the presidency of Ramon doll and then Xavier Oms, puts the first stone of that time was the Club today is known. A stage characterized by the great events organized by the Club and by the great athletes of the Optimist class, Moth Europe and Snipe; and a second phase under the orders of Josep Arxer as president, where the Crucero class saw the birth of the Prince of Girona trophy. At the end of the twentieth century becomes President Simon Schwartz in order to remodel the structures in order to increase comfort and facilitate the training partner athletes. There are excellent end-of-season dinners for partners with a great success of participation and important international sporting events such as the Samsonite Vila de Blanes Trophy. Those years the Sailing School approved by the RFEV and the FCV in 1992, begins its journey slowly but inexorably until today Finally, for the renewal of the concession, Amadeu Nualart, the last president to this day Club Vela Blanes saw the birth of a fishing section and consolidated during the first years of his mandate sailing school. the first Sailing Institute of Catalonia (IES Serrallarga) was created, in collaboration with the educational sectors and the Sports City of Blanes to bring sailing in primary schools and the sports organization of the Club was finally consolidated with the candle activity accessible for the disabled. The Es Niell prize for historical research was also born at that stage and the institution's grant for the next 25 years is being renewed.
