On 26th January 2016, the Modern Express, a 164-meter-long ferry sailing in the Atlantic, lost stability during a storm and would have caused a terrible environmental disaster along the north-western French coast if a team of dedicate salvage experts hadn’t intervened.

The prompt intervention from SMIT Salvage, one among the world’s largest maritime agencies specialized in salvage and rescue operations, prevented the disaster from taking place. A team of experts was on the scene within 24 hours and avoided the threat of disaster.

SMIT Salvage has made a video that shows the spectacular salvage operation. Incredible pictures demonstrate the courage and expertise of the men who took park in the operation.
