KJK fund acquires Elan Yachts
It’s on Christmas Eve that we receive the press release where Luxembourg KJK fund announces the signature of a final agreement to acquire the whole Elan Group. Analyzing the composition of the fund’s portfolio, the operation has a clear industrial connotation.
In current investments, indeed, we find an excessive predominance of industrial companies, specialized in plastic and metal manufacture and processing. The geographical composition of the portfolio, too, suggests a clear capacity to work in the Balkan area.
It therefore promises to be an even brighter future for the Slovenian group that, already established as the European leader in ski industry, builds those that are globally known as concrete, fast and reliable boats.
At the time of transfer, in fact, Elan Yachts has already sold almost all its production capacity of 2019 with only few units available for the next season. This was probably made possible thanks to the last two great successful creations of the shipyard: the Elan GT5 and the brand-new Elan E5, both tested and appreciated by our journalists.
” I’m happy that this acquisition has been carried out with such a specialized industrial counterpart” states Luigi Coretti, Italian importer of the famous brand.
” Elan can only benefit from this operation that further maximizes the value of the brand. Adria Ship has been representing Elan Marine in Italy since 1998; over the years, it has contributed to establish the brand on the domestic market and is certain that the new ownership will keep on innovation and expanding the range of boats”.
Founded in 1945, the historic shipyard is a real diversified industry today, specialized in the sector of high-tech composite materials.
Elan’s marine division, famous for its long and gratifying collaboration with Rob Humphreys, has given birth to many successful boats.
The sailboats of this shipyard are clearly recognizable thanks to the adoption of some specific features, such as double rudder blade, sharp hull and 3D Vail infusion technology.
KJK fund is a private equity that, with a portfolio of EUR 250 million, is specialized in operations in the Balkan area.
